Wines included
Les Pierres Bordes, Marsanne-Viognier, Pays d'Oc 2020
This marriage of two Rhône grape varieties from the Minervois/Saint-Chinian border is now a firm and deserving member favourite. Fresh, round and moreishly fruity white wine from the deep south of France.
Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine, Famille Bougrier 2020
Too often overlooked, few wines offer such easy-drinking anytime versatility as good Muscadet from the Atlantic end of the Loire. This is a lovely example, finishing clean and fresh. A Decanter World Wine Awards bronze medal winner in 2021.
Piemonte Cortese 2020
This great value refreshing white wine is light-bodied, dry and lemon-scented. Made from cortese (the grape also used for Gavi) in the rolling hills of north-west Italy near Milan, it can be enjoyed simply but rewardingly straight from the fridge.
Three Bunches Australian Shiraz 2019
Seasonal eating doesn't preclude a ray or two of sunshine. The black-cherry and mocha flavours of this fruity and full-bodied shiraz, generous on both nose and palate, will tame those good-for-you greens.
