From one of the Wachau’s most revered producers, the 2024 Grüner Veltliner Ried Kreutles Federspiel is a benchmark example of both site and style. Kreutles, a lower-lying vineyard in the Wachau, yields wines of charm and approachability, and in the cooler, elegant 2024 vintage, this expression is particularly vibrant. Aromas of crisp green apple, white pepper, lemon zest and a hint of fresh herbs leap from the glass. The palate is precise and refreshing, with juicy orchard fruit, a touch of flint, and the subtle creaminess that often marks Knoll’s wines, even in the Federspiel category. There's a beautiful interplay between fruit and acidity, making this both a mouthwatering aperitif and a versatile food wine. Elegant, focused and utterly drinkable, this is a classic Wachau grüner from a master of the genre, built on clarity and finesse rather than power and all the more compelling for it.
