When Louis Jadot purchased Château des Jacques in 1996, both cellars and vineyard were in decline and in need of significant investment to allow the wines to achieve their full potential. The renovation was long in the making but the wines today are brilliant, amply vindicating Jadot’s significant outlay.
The estate is a large landowner here with plots scattered across the appellation. Moulin à Vent's geology is complex and Château des Jacques’ vineyards have varying exposures and altitudes, lending subtle nuance to the different wines. We are also including their impressive Morgon Côte du Py in this offer, from that appellation’s most celebrated vineyard. It, too, has superb ageing potential.
