A Syrian wine from the country's only private wine estate in the north-western port of Latakia. The Saadé brothers set up a winery without any winemaking experience, and planted their first vines in the early 2000s. Due to conflict in the country, the brothers live in Beirut and communicate remotely with their team, with help from their wine consultant, Stéphane Derenencourt. Due to the complex situation in Syria it is proving impossible to ship any wine out of the country currently, but we are fortunate enough to have secured some wines with age that are drinking beautifully now. This is a syrah, cabernet and merlot blend that offers ripe bramble fruits combined with garrigue notes and savoury spice notes with structured tannins. Drink this year to 2030. 14.8%.

Due to the complex situation in Syria it is proving impossible to ship any wine out of the country currently, but we are fortunate enough to have secured some wines with age that are drinking beautifully now. The 2010 is a full-bodied and powerful wine with amazing structure and layers of interest. I would recommend decanting it half an hour before drinking. Drink from 2027 to 2032. 15.5%

Cabernet dominated with syrah and merlot, this is a rich, ripe red. Full of character with some black olive, clove and wild-herb layers adding complexity. Wonderfully interesting. Drink this year to 2032. 14%
