This outstanding-quality wine is rich, complex and perfectly balanced, with layers of dark fruit, mocha, and sweet spices. It is the result of a Barossa vintage where yields were down 50% due to dry conditions and high temperatures. However, the cooler February brought much-needed relief, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop exceptional depth and character.
Henschke’s reputation for excellence is unrivalled, and the Keyneton Euphonium 2020 is a true testament to the winery’s commitment to crafting exceptional wines. This full-bodied blend of 65% shiraz, 31% cabernet sauvignon and 4% cabernet franc was matured in both French and American oak (just 2% new) for 18 months prior to blending and bottling. It is full-bodied but sleek and elegant, with a beautiful balance of succulent dark fruits, sweet spices and earthy savoury character. These qualities mean it is both approachable now and built to age, making it an excellent addition to any fine wine collection.
