Wines included
Greco Basilicata Le Ralle, Alovini 2022
From the Volcanic slopes of Italy`s in-step, Basilicata, a white that packs ripe peach, lime and apricot flavours, yet retains remarkable freshness and mineral-edged acidity. Perfect with another local speciality, creamy burrata or a buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad.
Öküzgözü-Bogazkere, Vinkara 2020
A blend of two local Turkish varieties from one of the country's leading wineries. This is a bright, fresher and more lifted example than previous vintages, with delicious notes of red-apple skin and raspberry on the nose. The palate shows cherry, pepper, soft tannin and a deliciously pithy texture.
Rosso Piceno, Tenute Pieralisi 2020
A great blend of montepulciano and sangiovese, Rosso Piceno tends to slip under the radar but can provide great value, as here with appetising juicy red fruit with lovely spice and leather notes. Rosso Piceno can be excellent value, but it is rarely as approachable and appealing as this.
Viorica, Château Vartely 2022
A delightful rarity from Moldova. Light, crisp and dry white wine with aromas of rose petal and orange blossom. Similar to muscat on the nose but with a more crisp and precise palate. A hidden gem!
Liatiko Queen, Lyrarakis, Crete 2022
Liatiko is a native grape to Crete and can produce anything from pale, elegant and ethereal reds (like this) to intensely sweet red wines. This unoaked liatiko focuses of purity, with aromas and flavours of cherries, redcurrants and dried herbs and spices.
Vidiano Queen, Lyrarakis, Crete 2022
Vidiano is native to Crete and produces wines not unlike chardonnay, with ripe stone-fruit and peach notes, full, textured body and moderate acidity. This unoaked expression is delightfully fresh and makes for very easy drinking.
