Anyday Chardonnay Mixed Case
Wines included
Bolgrad Odesa Chardonnay 2024
This Ukranian wine comes from the Odesa region and is produced by Bolgrad winery, who are the biggest producer of still wine in the country. The vineyard location benefits from two opposing air masses coming from the fresh water Yalpug lake and the saline Black Sea. Not seeing any oak, this is a fresh and accessible style of chardonnay made from a producer making wine in very challenging circumstances. It blends the chardonnay with a little aligoté and in the 2024 vintage it is bright and energetic and full of classic stone-fruit and citrus notes.
The Society's Australian Chardonnay 2025
Made exclusively for The Wine Society by Yalumba, this is a refreshingly modern take on Australian chardonnay, a bright, generous white with melon, apricot and a twist of lime on the nose. There’s plenty of flavour, but it remains clean, crisp and effortlessly drinkable and is equally at home with food or served chilled from the fridge on its own. It’s not the bold, buttery style of the past. It’s a well-made, honest and delicious white from one of the most highly regarded producers in Australia, punching well above its weight and spot as a go-to fridge-door staple. Yalumba’s environmental credentials are equally impressive. They are 100% accredited by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, a Silver Member of International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), and a partner in the UN’s Race to Zero initiative, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. Their winery has also been powered by solar energy since 2016 which is one of the largest systems of its kind in the country!
Lascar Classic Valle Central Chardonnay 2025
No-nonsense, cracking-value chardonnay from Chile that has earned a loyal following for its ability to offer ripe melony flavours and a fresh, round palate at a very keen price.
The Society's South African Chardonnay, Western Cape 2025
Produced exclusively for The Wine Society by winemaker Henk Swart at Deetlefs Estate in the Breedekloof - one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa - this is a generous, oaked Cape chardonnay with a round mouthfeel from ageing on its yeast lees. The majority of the fruit is sourced from the warm Breedekloof, with a small proportion from cooler Franschhoek, and then mostly fermented and matured in French oak barrels for spice and richness. Full-flavoured with ripe apple, lemon curd and apricot, this is a new – and great value – addition to the Society's own-label range.
Grove Mill Marlborough Chardonnay 2024
A fresh and inviting nose, showing citrus and white stone fruit, gently rounded out by subtle French oak leads to a palate that's textured and satisfying without feeling heavy. There’s a pleasing savoury note alongside hints of cashew and soft spice, adding depth and polish to the fruit. The warm, dry 2024 growing season delivered excellent fruit quality and that comes through clearly here, with good concentration and a sense of clarity rather than excess. Thoughtful viticulture and a strong focus on sustainability underpin the style, giving a chardonnay that feels modern and well judged. A delicious taste of good value Marlborough.
The Society's French Chardonnay 2025
A cross-regional chardonnay from France and the best of two worlds. Fruit from warmer areas of southern France provides body and weight, with grapes sourced from the foothills of the Pyrenees adding freshness and elegance. Dry, clean and crisp, this would be perfect with roast chicken or quiches.
