Arbois Pinot Noir Sur la Cote, Domaine la Grapp'A 2024
Domaine La Grapp’A is an exciting and dynamic estate that was set up by a young couple who started the project from the 2021 vintage. Aurelie Parla and Julien Maublanc have only seven hectares and are based just outside of Arbois. Previously Julien’s family sold the grapes to the local co-operative, and although they worked organically for over 15 years, Julien’s philosophy is different. They are moving to biodynamics and are passionate about agroforestry, having livestock on the farm as well as developing oeno-tourism, with a yurt on site, and planting truffle trees. This pinot noir comes from a one-hectare parcel on a clay, limestone and loam slope. Whole-bunch carbonic maceration gives the wine a floral uplift. Expect plenty of red-berry fruits and wild herb perfume with a chalky tannin grip.
