Bargylus Grand Vin Blanc 2017
Our first Syrian wine, from the country's only private wine estate in the port of Latakia. A chardonnay, sauvignon blanc blend that has so much freshness and vibrancy, not showing much development at all despite a few years in bottle. Expect dried lemon peel, stone fruits and hints of lemongrass and white flowers. The Saadé brothers set up a winery without any winemaking experience, and planted their first vines in the early 2000s. Due to conflict in the country, the brothers live in Beirut and communicate remotely with their team, with help from their wine consultant, Stéphane Derenencourt. Low stock: Limited to one bottle per member.
