Benanti Etna Bianco 2023

0 star rating 0 Reviews
This 100% carricante from Etna's eastern and southern slopes, varying from 700m to 950m in elevation, is incredibly perfumed this vintage. Aromas of frangipani blossom and jasmine flowers, lemon and white grapefruit follow through to a refreshing yet rich palate, with lovely breath and texture on the vibrant, salty finish.

A complex white made from carricante, with a lovely dry mineral streak running all the way through.

Expressive and robust, showing powerful elegance and great textural appeal, this is a Carricante that balances classicism and modernity. Green apple, quince, and white grapefruit at the core with an elegant top layer of lemon balm, white roses and linden. Very long on the palate with focus and a delicious chalky grip that makes it linger on the palate. Lingering notes of grapefruit pith, preserved lemon and pear peel.

Very firm and dense. A really top-quality white with some meat-and-two-veg character about it. Serious stuff and no hurry to drink. JancisRobinson.com
