Cahors Château Monplaisir 'Pur Plaisir' 2020
Red Wine from France - SW France (excl. Bordeaux)
An intense, satisfying red from well-sited vines located on Cahors' clay-rich 'third terrace', home to some of the appellation's most appealing wines. It was fermented in traditional concrete tanks and then aged for 12 months in large oak barrels. The result is a ripe malbec with real energy and depth of flavour. The wine has solid structure, but this is tempered by polished tannins. Notes of dark fruit, tar and cigar box mark this wine out as something special to savour.
