Camins 2 Dreams Yilá Red 2024

Red Wine from USA - California
0 star rating 0 Reviews
'Yilá' means 'all-everything' in winemaker Tara Gomez's native Samala language and thus Yilá is a blend of all the grape varieties Gomez and her partner (in wine and life) Mireia Tena work with in Santa Barbara County. The blend naturally changes every year in terms of the proportion of grape varieties, but it is always a mixture of red and white wine. In 2024, carignan is the dominant player, supported by syrah and grenache, as well as smaller amounts of gamay, graciano, grüner, and albariño. It's a beautiful, fresh, and fragrant wine, bursting with raspberries and wild strawberry juice, violet and rose petal perfume, orange zest, dried rosemary, and white pepper. With fine, almost invisible tannins, the palate is juicy and refreshing, with a tangy, sour cherry lift on the finish. Wild fermented, and matured for ten months in neutral oak, this is unfined and unfiltered, meaning you may find a slight haze in the wine. If you enjoy new-wave Spanish garnacha, South African cinsault, or lighter styles of Beaujolais, you will love this.
