Château Bel Orme Tronquoy de Lalande, Haut-Médoc 2014
A classic northern Médoc claret from a little known château with vineyards close to the Saint-Estèphe boundary. The 2014 was particularly impressive in a recent tasting so we snapped up the parcel. Made from 60% merlot and 40% cabernet sauvignon, the wine displays sweet sour notes of dark fruit and cigar box, with polished ripe tannins. Perfect for drinking now.
