Vintage Champagne Trio
Wines included
Champagne Castelnau Brut Millésime 2008
The 2008 vintage has enjoyed extended ageing on its yeast lees before disgorgement, followed by further maturation in bottle, resulting in a beautifully complex and harmonious Champagne. Aromas of brioche, toasted hazelnut, lemon curd and baked apple lead to a palate of remarkable freshness and finesse, with a fine, persistent mousse and a long, savoury finish. Now drinking superbly, this is an outstanding partner for shellfish, lobster or simply enjoyed on its own.
Champagne Boizel Blanc de Blancs 2006
A beautifully mature blanc de blancs from Boizel, the 2006 combines the richness of a warm vintage with the freshness and finesse of Côte des Blancs chardonnay. Citrus and ripe orchard fruit are joined by toasted almond, brioche and honey, with a fine mineral thread bringing definition. Complex, vinous and showing signs of its maturity, this is a great wine to savour.
Champagne Deutz Brut Vintage 2006
Now beautifully mature, Deutz's 2006 combines ripe apricot and orchard fruit with toasted almond, brioche and a touch of citrus peel. Generous and rounded on the palate, yet retaining lovely freshness and a fine, persistent mousse, this is an elegant, harmonious vintage Champagne showing the complexity of extended bottle age. Released from the House for a 20-year retrospective.
