Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Comte Leloup du Château de Chasseloir, Cuvée des Ceps Centenaires, Chéreau-Carré 2019

The weight and concentration of grapes harvested from century-old vines makes for an ideal partner to seafood classics such as plump, savoury English oysters, seared scallops or any other seasonal fish which warrants a special bottle. A Loire classic.

2025 - 2027

Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Comte Leloup du Château de Chasseloir, Cuvée des Ceps Centenaires, Chéreau-Carré 2009

A great opportunity to taste this Wine Society staple made from old-vines at this trusted Loire producer. Muscadet is often seen as a light, early-drinking wine but this 2009 still shows great vitality and freshness with aromas of quince jelly, apple, nutmeg and a textured yet still mineral palate. There's no huge rush to drink up but it is unlikely to improve further.

France £25.00 per bottle
2025 - 2029

Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Comte Leloup du Château de Chasseloir, Cuvée des Ceps Centenaires, Chéreau-Carré 2010

A richer, toastier, and more tropical expression of Muscadet compared to the 2009 also offered. The palate has more palate weight and appealing fine tannin structure lending a frame for the apricot and green mango fruit.

France £25.00 per bottle
2026 - 2029

Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Comte Leloup du Château de Chasseloir, Cuvée des Ceps Centenaires, Chéreau-Carré 2012

Amazingly youthful 2012 Muscadet that shows all the wet-stone, mineral, oyster shell freshness that makes this style of wine both so appealing on its own and with food. A much cooler profile on the nose and palate, this has great vitality and tension, still with citrus peel and sparky acidity.

France £24.00 per bottle
2025 - 2032

Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Comte Leloup du Château de Chasseloir, Cuvée des Ceps Centenaires, Chéreau-Carré 2014

Stylistically similar to the 2012 this is still fresh, taut and citrus-driven with great texture and almond bitterness on the palate. The long, linear finish and concentration suggests this will improve for a few years yet. Ideal with some fresh oysters or lightly-grilled fish.

France £21.00 per bottle
2025 - 2032

Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Comte Leloup du Château de Chasseloir, Cuvée des Ceps Centenaires, Chéreau-Carré 2015

This is fabulous. More along the line of 2009 and 2010 with a richer fruit profile and fantastic concentration on the palate suggesting this'll improve for another ten years with ease. Expect green pineapple and mango, wet slate and oyster shell.

France £21.00 per bottle
