Chianti Colli Senesi Tenuta Le Calcinaie, Simone Santini 2024
Red Wine from Italy - Tuscany
Chianti Colli Senesi is one of Chianti's seven subzones, the largest after Chianti Classico, around the south-western edge of which it wraps, on the hills surrounding Siena. This, the most southern of the Chianti region, is known for producing some of the most charming and fruit-forward wines that rarely rely on heavy use of oak. Very fragrant and bright with sweet cherry notes and floral perfume, this is a beautifully approachable Chianti thanks to its supple tannins and immediate fruit. On the palate, there are vibrant wild strawberry as well as cherry flavours, and a touch of spice, all leading to a refreshing finish. Versatile with a whole host of dishes, but particularly perfect with tomato-based pasta sauces and pizza.
