Chiroubles, Domaine Chapel 2023

Red Wine from France - Beaujolais
0 star rating 0 Reviews
Pale, with gorgeous aromas of incense, rose petals, dry earth and wild strawberries, this embodies grace, finesse and freshness, showing how the elevation of Chiroubles helps in a warm vintage like 2023. Revitalising and refreshing with delicate tannins and a long, salty, salivating finish. Husband and wife team, David Chapel and Michele Smith-Chapel, of Domaine Chapel, firmly belong in the thrilling category of Beaujolais's rising stars. Having started out in 2015 mostly in a négociant capacity, they now own seven hectares of vineyard, including two hectares in the enchanting cru of Chiroubles. Having tasted the 2023 (there was no 2024 made due to a number of 'catastrophic' viticultural challenges), we snapped up all that remained of the wine.
