The high-altitude Chiroubles ‘Saint Roch’ always produces a style that is fresh and elegant, and especially so in the cooler 2024 vintage which has yielded an energetic, nimble and vivid wine. Saint Roch sits at 500m elevation and all of the work in the vineyard is done on foot and by hand; it’s ‘the Priorat of Beaujolais’ according to Frédéric Burrier. With violet and wild-herb perfume, and tangy raspberry and cranberry fruit, this is light and bright and linear.
