A World of Sauvignon Blanc Mixed Case
Wines included
Stoneburn Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Made for us by family winery Hunter's, this is attractive and elegant on the nose, with sappy gooseberry and citrus notes and a smooth, refreshing palate. A favourite of so many members for years now, this is a perfect representation of how good inexpensive Marlborough Sauvignon can be. Partner it with some English asparagus when in season, or a full-flavoured goat's cheese dish.
Iona Sauvignon Blanc, Elgin 2025
Refreshing sauvignon blanc from the cool Elgin region given added richness and weight from the addition of 4% oaked semillon. Lots of ripe peach and pear on the nose combine with crisp citrus on the palate with impressive length. They are integrated Production of Wine (IPW) and Wine & Agriculture Ethical Trading Association Level A certified, with 20 families living on the farm. Iona can see the value of longterm relationships with workers, in some cases multi-generational. Workers are shareholders in the company, and receive pensions, education and social support. Seeking biodynamic certification, they also are careful in their management of water use in a very dry environment, with a drip irrigation system in place for precision watering. Cover crop are grown all year round, varying from season to season. After the harvest more are planted to fix as much nutrition and nitrogen into the soil as possible, with mowing mostly eschewed for rolling.
Inviniti Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025
This New Zealand sauvignon is aromatic, citrusy, gooseberry and passionfruit-driven, with a crisp, refreshing lime character and juicy flavour on the palate. Made by the excellent Lawson's Dry Hills team, who are making serious strides in reducing carbon emissions and protecting their local environment. With independently certified carbon zero and environmental management certifications, this wine is in a lightweight bottle with 60% recycled content and packed in cartons made from sustainably managed forests. Try this incisively fruity white with goat's cheese-based salads, Thai-style noodles or curries, and the joys of emerald green spring vegetables.
The Society's Chilean Limarí Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Made for us by Viña Tabalí from a very cool vineyard planted on limestone soils just 7.5 miles from the chilly Pacific Ocean, this is a more mineral than fruity, European, less is more style. Limarí's cool and dry climate suits sauvignon blanc and cacti, hence the illustration on the new label. This crystalline, cool-climate Chilean is a great choice for fish and chips: it has an intense nose to rise above the fried-fish aromas and bright acidity to cut through the richness of the dish.
Lawsons Dry Hills 'Lighter' Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025
A brand new wine from one of the very best wineries in Marlborough, a truly delicious and refreshing white showcasing the region's freshness and vibrancy of fruit but with a smart, restrained mineral-driven edge. Lawson's Dry Hills have been one of the pioneers of sustainable and regenerative winemaking in Marlborough for many years now. Meticulous and sensitive farming practices has produced this sauvignon blanc at just 9% alcohol while retaining deliciousness. No funny business in the winery has been used to make the alcohol 30% lower than their standard estate sauvignon blanc. Instead they have identified specific plots of their vineyards which produce grapes with full flavour ripeness but lower sugar content. The result is this excellent dry white, a superb example of top quality sauvignon blanc with a restrained and elegant nose of nettle, pear and lime with a suave minerality. The palate is refreshing with pleasing freshness and purity of pear, lime and a hint of stone fruit joined by a delicate hint of fresh cucumber, lifting the wine and amplifying its purity. A really pretty, easy-drinking and accomplished wine which is an excellent example of its type but with the bonus of a lower percentage of alcohol, achieved entirely naturally.
Grove Mill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025
An excellent New Zealand sauvignon blanc bursting with vibrant peach, lime and passionfruit aromas, lifted by subtle grassy freshness. The palate is bright and zesty, balancing ripe tropical fruit with crisp citrus and a clean, mineral finish that reflects Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. Grove Mill, sustainability pioneers in this renowned region, craft their wines with a light environmental footprint, combining expressive flavour with delicate practices. The 2025 vintage captures the variety’s hallmark vibrancy and poise, offering a refreshing, impeccably balanced glass that’s as thoughtful as it is delicious.
Kipu Mendoza Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon 2025
Lovely 80% sauvignon blanc and 20% semillon blend. Sauvignon blanc has a lovely fresh and zesty nose while the semillon lend structure to the palate. It's made by the talented Cristobal Undurraga.
Koyle Costa Rapel Coastal Cuarzo Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Bright and fresh nettle-scented sauvignon blanc from a very cool coastal vineyard near Paredones, just over 5 miles from the Pacific, with granite and quartz soils. Made from three parcels with differing aspects. It was kept on its yeast lees to enrich the mid palate, and there is no oak.
Sauvignon Blanc 'Pure Vallée' Vin de France, Famille Bougrier 2025
This zippy white combines Loire and southern French fruit for a delicate, grassy and slightly tropical aroma with a fresh, creamy finish.
The Society's Bordeaux Sauvignon 2025
Fresh and aromatic, this is pure Bordeaux sauvignon made without the use of oak in a crisp and fruity modern style that allows its fruit to shine. Citrus on the nose with stone fruit and peach blossom meets a fresh, light body and mineral palate. It is blended from a range of sources according to the vintage to achieve a consistent level of complexity. Versatile enough to enjoy with or without a meal, it is bottled with a screwcap closure to retain maximum freshness. The label carries an image of a great Bordeaux landmark, the Pont de Pierre bridge that crosses the River Garonne in the heart of the city.
Duo Des Mers Sauvignon-Viognier, Vin de France 2025
Fragrant, fruity, full-flavoured southern French white, the happy marriage of two worlds with crisp sauvignon coming from Gascony and full-bodied, peachy viognier coming from Languedoc.
Cheverny Blanc, Domaine du Salvard 2025
Crisp, refreshing sauvignon takes the lead in this delicately aromatic Loire white, whose appellation includes a little chardonnay to round out the palate. Cheverny is a rural backwater in some ways, a little east of Blois, where the Delaille family tend their vines. Cheverny shouldn't be confused with the nearby appellation of Cour-Cheverny, which is based on the romorantin grape.
