Dining with the Stars: A Bordeaux Dinner at Restaurant Martin Wishart
Join us for a Michelin-starred celebration of Bordeaux, featuring a tour through the region’s most famous appellations, including Pessac-Léognan, Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and Sauternes. Hosted by Bordeaux buyer Matthew Horsley and Head of Fine Wine Alex Turnbull, the evening will showcase the remarkable diversity and quality of Bordeaux through a carefully selected line-up of wines, paired with an exceptional menu and accompanied by expert insight throughout.
Join us for a Michelin-starred celebration of Bordeaux, offering a rare opportunity to explore some of the region’s most renowned wines alongside an exceptional 4-course menu. The evening will take guests on a journey through Bordeaux’s leading appellations, including Pessac-Léognan, Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and Sauternes, showcasing the diversity of styles that have made the region the benchmark for fine wine.
Hosted by Bordeaux buyer Matthew Horsley and Head of Fine Wine Alex Turnbull, the dinner will feature a remarkable line-up of wines, including prestigious estates such as Domaine de Chevalier, providing members with a unique chance to taste bottles that are rarely encountered outside specialist tastings and private cellars. Throughout the evening, Matthew and Alex will share insights into the wines, producers and appellations, bringing context and perspective to what promises to be an unforgettable exploration of Bordeaux at its finest.
The final menu and wine selection will be confirmed and published in September. Subject to final confirmation, the wine selection will feature the following:

Chateau d’Yquem 1988 Halves
If any changes are needed, the wines selected will be of similar quality and style.

Our team will help members learn the building blocks of how the flavours and sensations in food and wine interact. The menus for the events are usually provided on registration but do let us know of any dietary or seating requirements.
Do you send physical tickets or is it all e-tickets?
We no longer send out physical tickets for our events. An email confirming registration will be sent to the member who has purchased the ticket(s) and this email can be used as confirmation upon arrival at the event.
Can I bring a non-member?
Yes. Tickets must be booked by a member, but you are welcome to bring non-member guests.
Do I need to know lots about wine to attend?
Absolutely not! Our events target a range of experience and knowledge levels, and we try to make this clear on our event pages. If you’re unsure if an event is for you, simply contact tastings@thewinesociety.com and we will try to help.
Do I get a discount on wines after events?
After our ‘in person’ events, we offer attendees a 10% discount on the wines we have shown, subject to availability. You will be provided with a private code after attending the event to redeem the discount
