Domaine de Trévallon Blanc, Alpilles 2024
White Wine from France - Rhone
0 star rating
0 Reviews
A modern white classic from Provence, and from an unusual blend that includes chardonnay as well as Rhône varietals. This has definite refinement and a degree of complexity that will develop with age. The 2024 vintage was cooler than 2023, giving the wine so much energy and vibrance. Expect the usual levels of precision from this star estate. Drink from 2026 to 2033. 14%

Domaine de Trévallon
Domaine de Trévallon is undoubtedly one of the greatest estates in Provence producing the region’s finest wine only a few miles from Lirac but across the Rhône and in a very different world.
And even then, Eloi Dürrbach's property stands alone from other estates in les Baux maintaining the style of wine that made Trevallon world famous. Eloi, like his friend Aimé Guibert at the nearby Mas de Daumas Gassac, broke new ground when creating this estate.
The unorthodox mix of grapes (France’s original cabernet-shiraz blend), means its red may only be labelled as Vin de Pays. The vines grow on north facing slopes and are late harvested and the wine is raised for over a year in casks of well-seasoned oak.
In character, the wines lie half-way between the Graves of Bordeaux and Hermitage of the northern Rhône, with finesse and discretion being key elements, showing elegance rather than sheer power.
