Dry German Riesling Case
Wines included
The Society's Exhibition Rheingau Riesling 2020
Rheingau rieslings were popular in Victorian times and early Society Lists featured several. We asked leading producer Gunter Künstler to provide a modern take on this German classic. The clean lines and lovely length of flavour are a must with south-east Asian cuisine.
Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Grans-Fassian 2022
A fabulously rich and fruity riesling from the Mosel and from one of the top estates. White peach and citrus and great length
Riesling Trocken, Schloss Lieser 2022
A clean and uncomplicated dry riesling from a top Mosel estate. This has lovely citrus fruit with a touch of steeliness and uplifting salinity, with charm and a touch of finesse.
Grauschiefer Riesling Trocken Alte Reben, Willi Haag 2022
A stand-out dry riesling with old-vine concentration, weight of fruit and some richness. A perfect riesling to go with food, and a stir-fry beckons. Grauschiefer means grey slate, and that is the rock that covers much of the Mosel. It is friable so that the vines is able to anchor with ease and the stones are good at reflecting back summer heat onto the vines.
Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett, von Kesselstatt 2022
There is succulent peach with hints of apple and citrus in this delightful riesling from the Mosel. The Kesseltatt team nailed it in the sunny 2022 vintage.
Riesling, Devon ‘S', Toni Jost 2022
Bone-dry German riesling, beautifully etched from Devonian slates on steep slopes above the Rhine up a narrow valley behind the pretty town of Bacharach. Brilliant fruit quality of intense apricot, this is clean, flinty and long.
