Etraz Vin de Savoie Ayze, Domaine du Gringet 2023
White Wine from France - Savoie
Formerly named Domaine Belluard until the tragic death of owner Dominique Belluard in 2021, it was taken over by his French distributors Raphaël Bennour and Miguel Sarzier and star Cornas grower Franck Balthazar. A young winemaker that had worked with Franck in the Northern Rhone was brought onboard, Vincent Ruiz and their first vintage was 2022. The wine is made from 100% gringet, an extremely rare variety that has only 22 hectares planted in the whole world. From 1970s plantings and planted on limestone scree soil, this wine is focused and linear with orange pith, white stone fruit and crushed shell notes.
