Wines included
The Society's Exhibition White Rioja Reserva 2018
Joining our Society-label white Rioja on the Wine Champions' winners' podium in 2026, this ‘fuller, richer’ expression was crowned a Champion for a second consecutive year. ‘Creamy and complex with a lick of oak’, its layers of buttery, nutty flavours, complemented by fresh citrus and white flowers, are a feast for the senses.
The Society's Exhibition Central Otago Pinot Noir 2024
Central Otago, on New Zealand's South Island, is famed for the quality of its world-class pinot noir. The warm days and cold nights create wines with ripe, full and generous cherry notes, alongside a full structure and vibrant freshness. This is a prime example which we believe offers unrivalled value.
The Society's Exhibition Sancerre 2025
A classic, mineral and crisp Sancerre from the Laloue family estate in Thauvenay. The 2025 vintage is a touch riper and richer in style without losing Sancerre's distinct minerality and purity. Simply cooked salmon or trout would make a fine match, but its soulmate is goat`s milk cheese, melted on a toasted baguette with sharply dressed leaves.
The Society's Exhibition Côte de Brouilly 2025
At 300 hectares, the Côte de Brouilly is one of the smallest of the Beaujolais crus. Its soil composition includes diorite, which has volcanic origins, as well as the classic pink granites and some schist. This patchwork of geology typically yields wines that are structured and fuller in body than many Beaujolais. This wine offers great concentration of bramble and black plum, combined with spicy complexity and supported by firm but ripe tannins.
The Society's Exhibition Syrah, Polkadraai Hills 2025
In the last decade, the Polkadraai Hills ward in southern Stellenbosch has become a remarkable source of spicy, thrilling syrah – an expression which appeals to lovers of the perfumed styles of Côte-Rôtie in the northern Rhône. Sixth-generation farmers Danie and Hugo Carinus of Carinus Family Vineyards own some of the most sought-after vineyards on these decomposed granite hills - which enjoy the cooling ocean influence of False Bay - and are responsible for growing this wine for The Wine Society, with Lukas van Loggerenberg making it in his cellar on their behalf. Previously we have bought this wine under the Carinus Family's own label, and two different vintages have been crowned Wine Champions in the last two consecutive years. The new 2025 - an incredible South African vintage - is spicy and perfumed with intense, beguiling aromas of red plum, blackberry, violet, and that wonderful distinctive white- and pink-pepper character. As always, this is a medium-bodied red, fresh and crisp, with vibrant acidity and fine, powdery tannins. The fruit was entirely destemmed and then around 30% of the stems were added back into the ferment. This is a luminous and bright syrah and we're very proud and excited that it is now wearing the Society's Exhibition label.
The Society's Exhibition Soave Classico 2025
Pieropan make this Soave Classico exclusively for us, with 80% garganega from Foscarino, a vineyard located in the west of the Soave Classico area, and 20% trebbiano di Soave from the famous Calvarino vineyard, all farmed organically. A dry, lemony and crisp Italian white with sage, chamomile flowers, almond and notes of oyster shell on the finish. This has the precision and focus which are hallmarks of the Pieropan approach.
