François d'Allaines, Auxey-Duresses 2023
White Wine from France - Burgundy
Like Saint-Aubin, this side valley situated between Meursault and Monthélie is quite cool and performs well in warm years. Principally from the north-east facing La Boutonniers, which moderates the heat of the vintage, this is rich yet fresh, with a long mid-palate and a fresh finish. Fermented then matured for 18 months in barrel.

Francois d'Allaines
François d’Allaines is a ‘micro’ négociant, and the benefit of the small size of the company is scrupulous attention to detail.
What grapes or juice he doesn’t like he refuses, which is why his quality is regularly high. He is continually refining his selection of growers. He pays top prices for top grapes and stops working with those growers who do not deliver the promised quality.
François trained in the hotel business but began his wine business in 1996, basing himself in the village of Demigny near the Côte de Beaune. He produces wines of consistently high quality.
