Sourced from 50-year-old vines in the German village of Norheim, Kirschheck is a steep south-facing grey-slate vineyard producing nervy and energetic rieslings. Red apple, wild flowers and white pepper are supported by grapefruit acidity and pithiness.
Scharzhofberg Riesling Auslese, von Hövel 2023
Ethereal, refined and quite brilliant German riesling. There is sweetness and richness with flavours of peach mingling with citrus and blackcurrant, all perfectly balanced. Von Hövel are one of Germany's oldest wineries and it has been in the family for over 250 years. The current generation are continuing to make wines with purity and elegance.
Saarburg Riesling Kabinett, Weingut Zilliken 2023
2023 was a sunny and dry which has produced rieslings that are juicy and fruit forward. The Saar is one of the coolest regions and therefore the usually razor sharp acidity has been moderated. Expect fleshy peach, citrus peel and the characteristic saline finish.
