2023 was a sunny and dry which has produced rieslings that are juicy and fruit forward. The Saar is one of the coolest regions and therefore the usually razor sharp acidity has been moderated. Expect fleshy peach, citrus peel and the characteristic saline finish.

Weingut Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken
Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken is the full name for the estate of Hans-Joachim Zilliken which is based in large part on the fine Saarburger Rausch vineyard. The rieslings form 10 ha are ripe and intense without harshness, and flavours range from cool lemon and lime fruit in Kabinett to nectarine and peach at higher levels. Hanno's daughter, Dorothee, also a wine-maker, trained in Geisenheim, the Pfalz and South Africa, joined him in 2007.
