Grillo Punto 8 Sicilia, Ottoventi 2025

White Wine from Italy - Sicily
0 star rating 0 Reviews
The organically grown vines for this Sicilian white are in sight of the sea, sitting at the foot of a spectacular inland cliff. There is freshly squeezed lime, bay leaf, and pear character on the nose, and a zesty and dry style on the palate, making it a wonderful white wine to enjoy with fresh seafood, dressed salads or just as it is on a sunny terrace!

Ottoventi

Located just outside Trapani in north-west Sicily, this estate is owned by Antonio Manzara, a Trapani accountant, along with his daughter Sara and son Francesco. The family has been bottling its wines since 1996, and chose the name Ottoventi – which translates as ‘eight winds’ – as a symbol of the diversity of the landscape in this part of Sicily.

Antonio and his family own 40 hectares of vines outside Trapani, 70% of which are white, and 8 hectares are beneath the imposing hills of Erice.

Winemaker Isabella Tunbarilla and her consultant Guzzo (who was with Regaleali for 25 years) are particularly expert at making the most of local white grape varieties grillo, zibibbo and catarratto.
