2026 - 2028

Vacqueyras Variation, Domaine de Montvac 2022

Made from 100% old vines of grenache from a specific plot close to the winery, this is a full-flavoured and spicy Rhône. The 2022 is juicy and rich, with blood orange and plenty of red-berry perfume to entice you in. The tannins are firm but classy.

2026 - 2035

Famille Cordier, Mâcon-Fuissé 2024

This high cool site above 400m produces a bright and refreshing wine with a lovely palate mingling apples with a hint of melon. It's fermented and matured in 500-litre barrels to moderate the oak flavour.

Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux, Moulis-en-Médoc 2018

The Cordonniers are very pleased with their 2018. Volumes were down by 25% but what was made is superb. Full and spicy with creamy, chocolatey complexity, but with delightful freshness too. Certainly one of the best wines we've seen from this estate and a fitting success to mark the 40th anniversary of the partnership between The Wine Society and Dutruch.

2024 - 2035

Soave Classico, Ca' Visco, Coffele 2025

A very fine expression of Soave Classico with a complex array of pear, citrus and flinty-mineral flavours, and a long, intense finish. The 2024 vintage has beautiful tension, linearity and energy, and promises to age gracefully. Made from a selection of this organic estate's best grapes - 75% garganega and 25% trebbiano di Soave - this takes Soave Classico as you know it to a whole new level and has remarkable ageing potential. The Coffele family has farmed organically for many years, taking a whole-farm approach that combines vineyards, livestock and olive groves. Sheep and goats form part of the system, helping reduce the need for machinery while contributing to a more diverse agricultural landscape. Alongside their environmental work, the family has also developed projects that support the local community, reflecting a long-standing belief that successful farming should benefit both the land and the people connected to it.

2026 - 2028

Rheingau Riesling Trocken, Eva Fricke 2024

A blend from around Eltville and Lorch, this is always incredibly good value, displaying lots of lemon and lime combined with white-blossom and pear notes. There is so much energy and saltiness coming from this wine, where young-vine fruit from Eva Fricke’s single vineyards can often be found. Drink from 2026 to 2032. 12%

Bodegas Classica Reserva, López de Haro, Rioja 2016

A brand new cuvée from López de Haro, renowned for releasing mature wines to market, this exceptional 10-year-old reserva comes from the famed 2016 vintage. Modelled on the most classic traditional Rioja style, the blend is 85% tempranillo and 15% graciano, sourced from 45- to 80-year-old bush-trained vineyards in and around San Vicente de la Sonsierra. It delivers everything you could want from a traditional Rioja at remarkable value, with aromas of fine leather, sweet Morello cherry and subtle spice layered over deep, brooding black fruit and damson. Incredibly silky on the palate yet still full of energy and poise, it is ready to enjoy now while retaining the structure and balance to evolve gracefully for years to come. Bravo!
