Keush Origins Brut NV
The Wine Society's first Armenian sparkling this is a traditional method fizz from indigenous grapes. The wine spends 22 months on lees to give a brioche, yeasty note. The wine has some reduction of struck match combined with white peach, stony and lemon citrus notes. Bone dry and steely, this is a refreshing and vibrant sparkling. 60% voskehat and 40% khatouni come from the village of Khachik village in the Vayots Dzor province at elevations of between 1500 and 1750 metres. Impressive vineyards with ungrafted, 60 to100-year-old vines planted on some of Europe's highest vineyard elevations, on volcanic and limestone soils. This project is run by Armenian winemaker Vahe Keushguerian and his daughter Aimee and quality is at the heart of what they are doing.

Clean and fresh. Works really well, even if not that long and very slightly hard. But GV and a great blind taste! JancisRobinson.com
