White Wine from France - Savoie
Formerly named Domaine Belluard until the tragic death of owner Dominique Belluard in 2021, it was taken over by his French distributors Raphaël Bennour and Miguel Sarzier and star Cornas grower Franck Balthazar. A young winemaker that had worked with Franck in the Northern Rhone was brought onboard, Vincent Ruiz and their first vintage was 2022. From a blend of yellow and white marl and limestone scree this is from a blend of parcels and aged in concrete tanks. Reductive struck match notes (would benefit from decanting an hour before drinking) steely and salty with grapefruit pith acidity. Delicate texture and with restrained concentration.
