Le Feu Vin de Savoie Ayze, Domaine du Gringet 2023

White Wine from France - Savoie
0 star rating 0 Reviews
Formerly named Domaine Belluard until the tragic death of owner Dominique Belluard in 2021, it was taken over by his French distributors Raphaël Bennour and Miguel Sarzier and star Cornas grower Franck Balthazar. A young winemaker that had worked with Franck in the Northern Rhone was brought onboard, Vincent Ruiz, and their first vintage was 2022. The wine is made from 100% gringet, an extremely rare variety that has only 22 hectares planted in the whole world. Le Feu is a south-facing hillside plot of around 450 metres that has red marl soils and is at the back of the village with 8-10 parcels. Red apple and citrus are supported by a tangy and pithy core. There is so much salinity on the finish.
