A great stepping stone into the wild and characterful reds of the Canary Islands, Piedra Fluida’s listán negro is as memorable as it is easy to drink. From 80-year-old vines at 600m altitude, it shows sanguine red fruit, red liquorice, goji berries and plum, with a subtle wild, savoury edge. A little time in new French and American oak adds structure, while the wine remains vibrant, expressive and very approachable. Try it with a paella that includes chicken thighs or rabbit pieces among the delicious ingredients.
