Lascar Classic Carmenère 2024
Knockout value from Chile. This ‘juicy, plummy’ carmenère won huge acclaim in our 2025 Wine Champions blind tastings: ‘easy to drink and really alive’ with ‘lots of character; I loved the ripeness of the tannins, and there’s a herbaceous edge to the fruit.’ An astonishing showing for a red at this price and a wine to stock up on with confidence!
Duo du Midi, Pays d'Oc 2024
Brilliant, fruity and fresh-tasting red made from cabernet franc and malbec, both of which work well in the heat of the Languedoc. The balance is lovely and the fruit flavours are reminiscent of raspberry and plum. Great value.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Vigna Corvino 2024
Rocco Pasetti makes the most attractive example we know of this Italian classic. Juicy and bright and bursting with ripe cherry and red plum fruit, with a graphite edge on the finish. A deliciously fulfilling example of this great grape. It's absolutely perfect for enjoying with pizza or pasta dishes of all kinds.
Château Virevalois, Bordeaux 2023
The follow-on vintage to the hugely popular 2022, this is slightly lighter and more fruit-forward as is the style with 2023 but no less appealing. Plum, strawberry and dark cherry on the nose with a lightly structured, juicy palate with plenty of charm. A great-value, anyday claret that's also available in bag in box.
Navajas Crianza, Rioja 2020
A smooth and expressive Rioja, unapologetically oaky, full of creamy vanilla with real depth of plummy, juicy fruit. It is consistently a favourite of members' year after year. Navajas get their hands on some of the finest fruit from Rioja`s best vineyards. They used to sell the fruit on to the big names, including CVNE, but now, wisely, have decided to keep it for themselves.
Baccolo Appassimento Rosso Veneto 2024
A members favourite, this popular Veneto red's opulent style is achieved by partial natural air-drying of the grapes (a mix of merlot and corvina) to add richness. There's bags of black cherry and leather on the nose, with more spice developing on the palate and finish. This is a great wine to pair with rich stews, roast dinners or mid week lasagne.
Pinot Noir ‘Pure Vallée’, Vin de France, Famille Bougrier 2025
Popular well-rounded Loire pinot, light and fresh, with bright, red-berry and cherry fruit. Best served on the cooler side, this is an easy-drinking lunchtime red.
Cuvée Laborie Rouge, Pays d'Oc 2025
A classic Languedoc blend of carignan and grenache, with a splash of merlot adding suppleness. Brilliant value southern French red delivering fresh, uncomplicated fruit and soft tannins.
Château de la Grave ‘Caractère', Côtes de Bourg 2022
From a member favourite estate from the full-bodied 2022 vintage this has a fragrant bouquet of plums, tar and vanilla, with a layered, juicy texture on the palate. A blend of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet sauvignon the wine was aged for 12 months in two and three-year-old barrels from one of Pauillac`s most famous châteaux. This is concentrated, but well balanced, with grainy, ripe tannins on the finish. A remarkable wine for the price, this is already drinking beautifully, but has ample capacity to age. As winners of our 2024 Climate & Nature fund, de la Grave will use our funds to help diversify and move away from a monoculture. One project involves planting fruit, olive and truffle trees, establishing pre-orchards which will combine fruiting trees with meadows for grazing and breeding their sheep and horses.
Bando de Corvos ‘Murder of Crows’ Tinto, Lisboa 2024
This wine is sourced from vineyards close to the city of Lisbon and is a blend of native Portuguese grapes, touriga nacional, castelao and trincadeira. They come together to create a generous, medium- to full-bodied wine full of Portuguese charm. Juicy aromas of damsons, plums, black pepper and a mellow earthiness on the nose lead to a generous, fruit-driven but mellow palate. Perfect with beef stews and dishes with earthy flavours, or just on its own. A charming, easy-going and inexpensive bottle which demonstrates authentic Portuguese charm. Bando de Corvos (Murder of Crows) takes inspiration from the story of the two crows which accompanied the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, when he brought Saint Vincent's bones to Lisbon. Crows are now a symbol of Lisbon and appear on the city's coat of arms.
Côtes-du-Rhône, Château Courac 2023
The 2023 vintage is juicy with plenty of red plum and ripe cherry concentration. 2023 is a vintage that offers lots of charm with brambles and spice with a juicy and supple core. There is plenty of freshness and crisp acidity. This wine offers incredible value and enjoyment. It will pair perfectly with barbecued meats and tomato-based pasta dishes.
Saint-Chinian, Réserve de Raynier 2025
‘Pencil shavings, pomegrante, pepper, pot-pourri… all the Ps, actually!’ This southern French grenache-syrah blend is certainly popular, and perennially prevailing, reaching our Wine Championship podium for the second year in a row. ‘Vibrant’ and ‘savoury with lovely black fruit’, it’s also offered at a pleasing price!
