Pinot Gris Rotleibel de Rorschwihr Vendange Tardive, Domaine Rolly Gassmann 1996
Delectable late-harvest pinot gris in a great vintage and from a producer that consistently makes some of the greatest sweet wines in Alsace. A lieu-dit situated to the north of Rorschwihr and planted on limestone and loess soils, that give the wine great density as well as freshness and acidity. Golden in colour the wine exudes dried lemon, honey, white truffles, smokiness and hints of mushroom. Salted caramel on the finish. 76 grams/litre residual sugar.
