Loic Cailbourdin is one of the most exciting producers in the Loire, having taken over his family property in 2010 and has focused on making premium, single-site, terroir-driven Pouilly Fumé from his 20 hectares. This, entirely from calcarious soils, blew buyer Matthew Horsley away when tasting earlier in the 2026 thanks to its Burgundian-like smokiness, intense citrus-pith zestiness, and wonderfully full, textured palate. A very serious, toasty, sauvignon that's best served decanted.
