The Gigondas Collection
Wines included
The Society's Exhibition Gigondas 2019
The Exhibition Gigondas was blended and aged in barrel by Louis Barruol of the celebrated Château de Saint-Cosme estate. Long and concentrated and satisfyingly full-bodied with flavours of plums and spice. 2019 is a vintage that has density and weight, but the quality of fruit and winemaking has led to a wine that also has brilliant acidity and balance.
Gigondas, Domaine du Cayron 2020
The three Faraud sisters share the work of making the family wine, which is raised in a mix of barrels and foudres of different sizes. The final blend is generously flavoured and true to its origins.
Gigondas Le Souiras, Clos des Cazaux 2019
A single-vineyard Gigondas planted with old vines of grenache. This was aged for thirty months in oak which gives it a certain patina of spice on top of the abundant fruit. Monumental in 2019 yet never unbalanced.
Gigondas, Domaine Raspail-Ay 2021
Fragrant, grenache-dominated red, ripe and fruity with Provence herbs and sweet spice. Heart-warming fireside red from the Rhône Valley to be enjoyed with, for example, a game pie.
Gigondas, Tradition Moulin de la Gardette 2023
Jean-Baptiste Meunier is one of the stars of the region and as of 2025 has his daughter Zoe joining the estate full time. The wines show a real sense of place with plenty of richness and garrigue. 2023 is a charming vintage where there is real freshness and weight, with gorgeous perfume. A blend of mainly grenache, mourvèdre and cinsault delivering red cherry, liquorice and spice with chalky tannins.
Gigondas, Domaine de Gour de Chaulé 2022
The new generation have now become involved in this 15-hectare Gigondas estate with winemaker Paul Fumoso having taken over from his mother. Grapes come from several parcels around the village and aged in a mix of cement and foudres. This 2022 red is full of ripe black plum notes and brambles with plenty of sweet and savoury spice adding layers of complexity.
