Riesling Pfingstberg Grand Cru, Domaine Camille Braun 2022
Annabelle Braun is 11th generation of her family to run this estate in Orschwihr, Alsace and has moved it even further forward. Converted to organic and biodynamic viticulture in the early 2000s, it's a high-quality estate with diverse soils. From a Grand Cru vineyard that sits at 350-metres altitude and with vines planted on chalky sandstone and micaceous sandstone, the wine is often quite expressive and powerful. There is a lot of juiciness and density on the core and plenty of ripe, fleshy peach and fresh mango notes that are supported with a grapefruit pith acidity. The wine spends 22 months ageing in large barrels prior to bottling and release.
