Southern French Whites for Summer
Wines included
Cantoiseau Blanc, Vin de France 2025
A light, refreshing and fruity French white with sauvignon influencing the fresh, leafy, nettley flavours. It's excellent value, too. Perfect as an aperitif or with salads and roast chicken.
Picpoul de Pinet, Domaine Félines Jourdan 2025
One of the best-value whites from the south of France, full-flavoured and dry yet with crisp freshness and a beguiling citrus and herb flavour. An ideal partner for white fish and seafood.
Terra Santa Blanc, IGP Ile de Beauté 2025
This wonderfully crisp dry white from the east coast of Corsica is highly drinkable. Made from 100% vermentinu, a variety that thrives in the coastal Mediterranean climate, it makes a perfect warm weather aperitif, but also matches a wide array of dishes including white fish, seafood and salads.
Domaine Tariquet Saint-Amand Blanc, Côtes de Gascogne 2025
A new wine to the range this year, Saint-Amand is owned by the Grassa family with whom The Society has worked for decades. It is a well-balanced, friendly white made from chardonnay, gros manseng and sauvignon. Versatile enough to go with multiple dishes, including those with moderate spiciness and Asian cuisines, but can also be enjoyed on its own. Gascony is a great place to buy wines from. Size and economies of scale help maintain low prices, while a climate that is warm, sunny but with no lack of water, ensuring consistent quality.
Le Bosc Viognier, Pays d'Oc 2025
Textbook southern French viognier. Ripe, aromatic and peachy, but with freshness too. Perfect with a starter of jambon cru and Charentais melon.
Aramis Blanc, Laplace, Vin de France
This is a classic white blend from Gascony, designed to be light, vibrant and refreshing. Grape varieties used include colombard and the more tropical-fruit-tasting gros manseng.
