Full-bodied, intense, and supremely stylish, this has aromas ranging from ripe red and black cherry, to pomegranate, to dried raspberry, and baking spices. The tannins are supple with a silky mouthfeel, and enough structure to support the juicy, sweet core of fruit with a touch of grip on the long, spicy finish. There is a twist of black olive tapenade on the back palate, bringing a sapidity and savour that makes this incredibly moreish. Seghesio have more than 125 years of viticulture in California under their belt and are well recognised as one of the top producers of zinfandel in the state and this, their Sonoma County wine, is a textbook example of serious, ageworthy zin. A wonderful wine to tuck away in your cellar!

A truly California chardonnay. 50% aged in American oak for eight months to give rich vanilla, coconut and nutmeg spice. The other half is aged in steel to retain the fresh peach and pineapple character. Rich and full-bodied, with a lemon-curd finish.

A wine that lives up to its name, this brazen zinfandel is a full-bodied, rich and powerful red, with concentrated blackberry and damson fruit profile, mocha, sarsaparilla and sweet spice developing. A great red to pair with a steak, barbecue or burgers, although the soft tannins mean it is a comforting glass by itself.

From Washington State's Yakima Valley and the fourth-generation Miller family, this zingy riesling has ripe apple and peach aromas, and just a touch of sweetness to balance the refreshing acidity. With lemon sherbet character on the palate, this is light, bright and delicious paired with a spicy papaya salad but is also a great standalone aperitif.

A gloriously food-friendly Wine Champion, this is ‘a lighter expression’ of California zin from the Livermore Valley, whose ’menthol, freshness, herbs, freshness and balance’ were all noted with high approval and high scores. Bright, juicy and poised with inviting blueberry fruit, excellent complexity and moreish elegance.

Bibiana González Rave is making some of Sonoma's most exciting wines and, having established Cattleya in 2011, she was announced as the San Francisco Chronicle's winemaker of the year in 2015. The grapes for this wine are from coastal Sonoma in California and retain freshness coupled with lovely ripe orchard-fruit flavours. Creamy and beautifully balanced, this is a lovely example of a Sonoma chardonnay.
