Vanguardist La Petite Vanguard 'Corsair' Riverland 2024
A last parcel of Vanguardists 'Le Petite Vanguard' range which precedes the Botanic wines that we now work with. In order to help the winery clear through the last of the stocks they have offered us a very sharp price to pass on to members. This is a delicious bistro-style wine which is youthful, vibrant and built around drinkability, but with extra interest coming from the clever winemaking. A Mediterranean-leaning blend of tinta barroca, graciano and prieto picudo, it offers a medium-bodied, fruit-forward profile that feels fresh and expressive rather than heavy. The nose is bright and inviting, with red and black fruit to the fore, with an appealing layer of aromatic spice. The palate offers smooth, well-judged tannin, lively acidity and a real sense of youthful energy. Harmonious, approachable and full of life, it is drinking beautifully now. A deceptively elegant and accomplished red from one of the most sought-after winemakers in Australia.
