A profound expression of encruzado and one of the finest examples of the grape at this level. Produced from old vines, the grapes spend several days on skins before spontaneous fermentation begins, followed by extended ageing in large old oak barrels. The result is a complete and beautifully integrated wine, combining breadth, texture and intensity with remarkable freshness. Aromas of white peach, lychee, cream and subtle spice lead into a layered palate with a gentle salty edge - this shares many similarities with top-tier chardonnay but the velvety texture and saline twist set it apart. Rich, savoury and deeply elegant, this is exceptional Dão white wine.
