White Burgundy Case

This has the tell-tale ripe yet fresh balance of the vintage with good concentration of fruit for a Bourgogne. This was matured in 600-litre barrels and a large foudre to minimise the impact of oak on the wine and to capture the fresh fruit character.

This is situated high on a slope where there is a shallow limestone soil. It results in a fresh, taut, mineral style with fresh, lemony core even in a warm year like 2022. Fermented and then matured for seven months in 350-litre barrels. 'Cra' is a derivation from craie, which is limestone in French. The vineyard comprises 4.5 ha of vines with an average age of 25 years and planted at 7500/ha. Frédéric Burrier has improved the viticulture, ploughing the vineyard to cut the superficial roots, encouraging them to descend into the soil where they mitigate the problems of flood or drought.

Ripe but fresh and well-balanced Mâcon of excellent quality which belies its humble appellation. Made from vineyards above the amphitheatre of Fuissé and fermented and then matured for seven months in 228-litre barrels.

A fresh and fine flavoured Saint-Véran from Leynes, with a linear shape and refreshing, vibrant palate. Fermented in a 38hl foudre and 500-litre barrels.

More than one buyer called this white Burgundy their wine of the 2025 chardonnay Wine Champions tasting, with one noting ‘it tastes very premium’ with ‘apple and melon aromas and flavours.’ Another added that ‘there’s lovely fruit concentration, creamy texture and brilliant balance - this does a lot!’
