Château Figeac is one of the most unique properties on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Due to the high proportion of gravel in the soils, the vineyards are planted with an unusually high percentage of cabernet sauvignon (35%), and the wines consequently have a distinct cabernet sauvignon-driven, almost left bank style. Combined with impeccable sustainability credentials, the estate has become one of the region’s leading properties under the watchful eye of Frédéric Faye. The 2025 is a blend of 38% merlot, 32% cabernet sauvignon and 30% cabernet franc and, whilst there is richness from the warm vintage, there is also an incredible sense of direction and linearity to the wine, like an arrow through the palate. Distinct mineral notes of slate, crushed rock and a touch of graphite accompany brilliant concentration of cassis and sweet plum fruit. Finely grained tannins and a pure line of acidity lend remarkable vivacity to the wine, culminating in an impeccably long finish. A brilliant Figeac. This wine comes in a wooden case. Drink from 2035 to 2060. 13%
