‘VCC’ has long been one of our favourite Pomerols at The Wine Society, and the 2025, described as a ‘great vintage’ by Alexandre Thienpont, was one of the wines that really blew us away. Gorgeously perfumed, it opens with aromas of wild blackberry, cassis, toasted herbs and sweet oak. The palate is broad and enveloping, packed with rich bramble fruit and ripe, finely judged tannins, while a fresh, rasping finish provides superb counterpoint to the wine’s natural opulence. The first vintage with Guillaume Thienpont fully at the helm, this is a superb VCC with all the pedigree and balance required for long-term ageing. This wine comes in a wooden case. Drink from 2033 to 2060. 14%
