These two 2024 wines from the historic cellars of Pieropan show the remarkable breadth of Soave Classico and are truly among Europe’s finest white wines. I’m delighted to share the new vintage with you to reserve now.
Order by midday on Thursday 30th April
Calvarino, from volcanic basalt soils, offers purity and mineral precision – a more traditional, gently aromatic Soave for earlier drinking. This is the original Pieropan vineyard and beloved for good reason.
The more famous of the two, La Rocca, is grown on rare limestone, giving a richer and more textured expression of Soave. The vineyard is situated on the Monte Rocchetta hill, and is named after the medieval fortress which overlooks the town of Soave. The wine is matured in barrels for a year to add further complexity, and it can age beautifully.
