Produced by Tenuta Pieralisi in the Marche region, this latest instalment in our Bin Series shines a spotlight on one of Italy's most distinctive indigenous grape varieties.
Lacrima is celebrated for its wonderfully perfumed character, offering aromas of rose petals, violets and wild red berries that are unlike almost any other Italian red. Vinified and matured entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity, the wine is vibrant, juicy and expressive, with supple tannins, a purple hue and a floral, spicy finish.
Sourced from the small DOC around Morro d'Alba, near Ancona on the Adriatic coast, it is a fascinating example of the hidden treasures that reward those willing to venture beyond Italy's more familiar appellations.
