Bando de Corvos ‘Murder of Crows’ Branco, Lisboa 2025

White Wine from Portugal - Lisboa
0 star rating 0 Reviews
The sister wine to the Lisboan red which has been loved by members, this is an easy-drinking blend of local Portuguese white grape varieties - 50% vital, 30% arinto, 20% fernão pires. The Atlantic influence on the Lisboa climate has helped to craft a wine which has a lovely refreshing crispness, but with enough ripeness and rounded fruit to make it a versatile white, ideal with or without food. Easy going, uncomplicated and with plenty of authentic Portuguese charm from the three unique grape varieties behind the blend, this is a great sipper for year round enjoyment. Perfect when paired with flaky white fish, vegetable risottos or with nibbles for an aperitif. Very much in keeping with the sort of easy going house whites drunk in so many of Lisbon's thriving wine bars and tascas. Bando de Corvos (Murder of Crows) takes inspiration from the story of the two crows which accompanied the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, when he brought Saint Vincent's bones to Lisbon. Crows are now a symbol of Lisbon and appear on the city's coat of arms.
