Bardolino Le Fraghe 2025
Red Wine from Italy - Veneto
A pioneer of the independent winemaker movement, Matilde Poggi makes the best Bardolino we know, with a light and gentle touch. Her 2025 is as fragrant as ever, and brilliantly refreshing with a herbal, fennel-like perfume and wild strawberries on the palate. This is a red that could be chilled a little, and is perfect with mixed antipasti or a picnic.

Le Fraghe
Matilde Poggi runs this 28-hectare estate in the Adige valley next to Lake Garda and close to Verona, using only estate grapes (70% corvina and 30% rondinella, both local varieties). Her father, a successful industrialist bought the estate in the early eighties and Mathilde began making the wine in 1984.
She gets it right in the vineyards and then takes care of the fruit in the cellars, employing cool maceration and a short four-day fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve maximum fruit and freshness.
