Bordeaux 2016 Trio
Wines included
Château Batailley, Pauillac 2016
We’ve been singing the praises of the 2016 Bordeaux vintage since its release, and this ‘amazing’ ambassador showed under Wine Champions blind-tasting conditions how good it is. A ‘benchmark Pauillac’ with smoky complexity and fine-grained structure, it will benefit greatly from decanting. Exceptional.
Château du Tertre, Margaux 2016
From vines located on the highest point of the Margaux plateau, du Tertre has made a fine-boned wine, with appealing freshness and nicely judged oak. 75% cabernet sauvignon 10% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot.
Château Latour Martillac, Pessac-Léognan 2016
A château that continues to make excellent-value wines. The 2016 is a succulent blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 32% merlot and 8% petit verdot, and delivers pronounced notes of cassis and tobacco on the nose with appetising, layered fruit on the palate.
